Jan. 5, 2026 – LIFE CAMP Volunteers Visit Kongshan Temple

At the dawn of 2026, we were delighted to welcome volunteers from LIFE CAMP (International Bliss and Wisdom Youth Life Growth Camp) for a temple visit. Having just completed their four-day youth camp at Honor's Haven, the group traveled to Kongshan Temple for a spiritual pilgrimage.

Around 1:00 PM, approximately 50 students arrived at the mountain gate. As they walked up toward the Buddha Hall, they were greeted by the serene, snow-covered landscape of Conch Lake. For those from Taiwan and other parts of Asia, witnessing snow is a rare luxury; seeing it in New York is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was through the blessings of the Guru and the Sangha that they were able to experience the profound beauty of the snow here at Kongshan Temple.

After a briefing by Venerable Xing Nian in the Buddha Hall, the outdoor tour began. Despite the winter snow covering the grounds, the students were eager to visit every site, including the Redwood Dharma Hall, Bright Moon Garden, the Great Farmland, Water Moon Pavilion, and the shores of Conch Lake, determined not to miss a single landmark.

As the students prepared to depart, they crossed paths with Abbot Ru Zheng, who was just heading out. They took the opportunity to gather for a group photo in front of the Great White Pine. We pray that our practice may be like the Great White Pine: internally resilient and upright, while externally soft and compassionate toward all living beings.

The beginning of 2026 has indeed started on a wonderful note.
